A woman and a juvenile male were shot in Henrico’s East End on Wednesday morning.
Henrico Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 300 block of Newbridge Road at the Summerdale apartment community just before noon.
The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“It’s been a little wild out here. Lately, this whole street was blocked off with police and stuff,” said resident C.C. Ford. “I’ve been living out here going on to years now, and it didn’t use to be like this out there, but now this is definitely not outside of the norm. This is the new norm.”
Police haven’t announced if they are looking for a suspect or a vehicle, but detectives are hoping that answers could lie in surveillance cameras mounted on the side of the buildings surrounding the crime scene.
Police say they are looking if those cameras may have caught anything that could help them put the pieces of this crime together.
